Well, we’ve set it up, and here it is. I’m taking to the road to talk about LONE DOG ROAD, crisscrossing my beloved home state.
But those of you who don’t see your area represented, take heart. This is just the bookstore tour. The library tour is coming later, so those of you in places like Greenbush, Thief River, and Warroad in my favorite forgotten corner of the state, and those in the often ignored southwest — I’ll see you soon enough. For now, I look forward to just getting back on the road to talk about LONE DOG ROAD.
I love this book — not so distant relative to Neither Wolf nor Dog, The Wolf at Twilight, and The Girl Who Sang to the Buffalo — and hope you will, too.
See you soon.

Hope it’s a great tour.
I deeply appreciate your books and your passion to share the wisdom and teachings of the Native elders and people you encountered and wrote about in your Trilogy, which I read with great interest. Thank you for raising my awareness. You are an excellent educator, story teller, and writer. I look forward to purchasing and reading your new book. Meanwhile, I send you best wishes for a safe and prolific journey as you start your book tour.
Hope you make it to South Central Texas!
Kent,
Hope you can get to PA.
I am 3/4 of the way into Lone Dod Road and it is amazing! Don’t know how you do it, you truly have a gift!
Don’t feel like I’m reading a book but living this life in real time. Can’t wait to get to the end to find out how things turn out. It is hard to put down and I already don’t want the story to end. Hopefully this will be a trilogy or more, like Neither Wolf Nor Dog. The boys are young so that enables more books. This is a HINT! Hope you are thinking along these lines!
I have considered moving to a northern state, maybe MN. I have always had a strong feeling and longing to be with tribal culture ever since I can remember, even though I am not tribal I find myself reading much on the Sioux nation, Lakota, Dakota, Nakota, but I read about all nations here in USA and Canada.
About the Code Talkers from WW1 and WW2, the residential schools, tribal culture and beliefs, non-fiction, biographies, autobiographies and feel a sense of belonging when I do. Can’t explain why I feel that way, guess it’s just me.
In Pa there are zero state or federally recognized tribal nations, which is wrong on so many counts! I have signed a few petitions to correct this wrong but appears this state does not care and it is wrong, disrespectful and sad.
I’m retired and would really love to help and support our tribal people, donate all my time to whatever is needed and learn by living it. Unfortunately, here in PA that opportunity does not exist.
I have made up my mind, in the near future (within the year) I’ll be selling my home and making the change I have always wanted to do. Just not sure where yet, but definitely north.
You are fortunate to have these relationships, please keep writing.
Best regards, Linda
Thank you for your kind words, Linda. And thank you for caring and understanding. I truly wasn’t sure what I had when I finished LDR. I know I loved the book, but I knew the narrative style of every character speaking in his or her own voice with no overarching narrator was a high risk proposition. When folks like you tell me it worked, it means the world to me. I can’t wait for your review. You can post it right now on Goodreads, but have to wait until the 20th to post it on Goodreads sister site, Amazon. Just know that these early reviews mean more than you can imagine. They lead other viewers to the book and help it find its footing in the world. Thanks again for caring.
Kent, this story may be the best you have ever written, and that is saying something. I am about half way through and I can’t put it down. I feel as if I am right there with those little boys, experiencing everything right beside them. All of your characters are so real that I feel as if I am getting to know them, or sitting in their living rooms with them. Incredible storytelling once again, Kent!
Safe Journey Kent, where the Spirit Wind takes you.
But if you can swing thru Boulder Colorado again, please do.
The CU CNAIS students will turn out in force I’m sure, if made aware.

My heart feels good reading your books, but also reading the commentaries.
The image of the child you shared and written of stays with me. The Child in us all?

Please Be Safe to Stay Safe Situational Awareness Always with our nose to the wind, heh?
Thanks, Katy. I appreciate hearing responses like this, because, truly, I didn’t know what I had. You readers are the only measure that really counts. Please post your thoughts on Goodreads. They will let you post before the book comes out, although Amazon will not. But Goodreads is affiliated with Amazon, so you can publish the same review on each. It would mean a great deal to me.
Looking forward to reading my copy once it arrives from Amazon. Love your other books.
Barnes and Noble already shipped my copy. Looking forward to it.
If you can please plan a trip to NJ. You have lots of fans here starting with Bob and me. I’ll cook you dinner and we can spend some great quality time visiting. That’s an invitation from the heart. Also, I’m a really good cook!
Congratulations Kent! Looking forward to seeing you at the University Club and reading Lone Dog Road. I’ve enjoyed all of your books and encourage my friends & family to also read them.
Wish it could happen! Nothing in the works that has me going outside of Minnesota. But I feel like I know you and Bob and your daughter and would love to meet you in person.
