I didn’t like Kennedy’s vision – it became the basis for the “Great Society” programs that destroyed the self reliance that had seen us through WWII and the amazing economic recovery that followed. Reagan’s vision was clearly focused on restoring that “can-do” spirit and succeeded in pulling us out of the “moral malaise” that characterised the 70’s. Clinton had the charisma to communicate and connect with the people, but unfortunately his vision tended to waffle with the polls. GW while not a great communicator is steadfast and unchanging in his view that the best way to increase America’s security is to actively spread democracy and economic self-determinancy across the globe.
